Die Silbermine ist eine der großen Themenfahrten des Phantasialands. Sie befindet sich zwischen der Western Stadt und dem Themenbereich Mexiko. Die Bahn besitzt einen Endloszug und wurde 1984 als einer der ersten "Darkrides" im Parks eröffnet. Gebaut wurde die Anlage von den Firmen Schwarzkopf und Hoffmann. Die Attraktion ist für die ganze Familie geeignet und begeistert jung und Alt gleichermaßen.

Die Fahrt beginnt in einer mexikanischen Silbermine, anschließend geht es durch einen "Zeittunnel". Nachdem man diesen durchquert hat, fährt man hoch in ein mexikanisches Dorf, das gerade zur Fiesta ansetzt. Doch während der Feier passiert ein Unglück und die Häuser gehen in Flammen auf. Glücklicherweise kann man dem Feuer entrinnen und findet sich zum Shootout am Dorfrand wieder...

Die Silbermine hat bei vielen Fans einen Kultstatus erlangt, allerdings wird vermutet dass die Bahn nicht mehr lange in Betrieb sein wird. Denn aufgrund des großen Platzmangels im Phantasialand und damit verbundenen Umbauten in den letzten Jahren, sowie dem geringen Besucheraufkommen, wird wohl auch diese schöne Fahrt für Jung und Alt wahrscheinlich in den nächsten Jahren verschwinden.
